BIOGRAPHY

​

I am a contemporary dance artist based in Helsinki, Finland. I have graduated as a Master of Arts in Dance from the Theatre Academy Helsinki in 2016. Previously, I have done studies in Dance and Movement Therapy and received vocational qualification in dance from the Finnish National Opera Ballet School.

 

Past decade I have worked in different artistic collaborations and performed in many Finnish and international dance festivals and venues. I have worked with choreographers such as Liisa Risu, Liisa Pentti, Kosei Sakamoto, Soili Huhtakallio, Kati Korosuo and Johanna Nuutinen and danced in several works of Petri Kekoni Company. Since 2017 I have been a member of a dance collective Energpriests which main focus is to explore movement and create performances from the perspective of energy.

In addition to contemporary dance works I have performed in site-specific works, dance films, gallery installations, Turku City Theatre, Savonlinna Opera Festival, Hartwall Arena etc. Year 2017 I choreographed and performed in a virtual reality dance short film Wombsong (dir. Hanna Västinsalo) that has toured in several festivals in Europe and USA in 2018-2020.

I teach contemporary dance in dance school Tanssivintti as well as a guest teacher in different schools and venues. I operate as one of the artistic leaders of Tanssivintti together with dance artists Anna Mustonen and Janina Rajakangas. In addition to artistic work I have studied and practiced shiatsu massage.
